The set of people and addresses you send email to.

In practice
A list is only useful while it is accurate. Addresses go stale as people change jobs, abandon mailboxes or unsubscribe, so keep dates for when each was collected and last confirmed.
Verification and sending
Verify new lists before the first send and re-verify older rows before large campaigns. Keep a suppression list for bounces and unsubscribes.
