Phone Number Validator

Check whether a phone number is correctly formed for its country, and get it in standard E.164 format.

Runs in your browser. The number is not sent anywhere. The country is used only when the number has no +country code.

How it works

Format is not reachability

A phone number is a country calling code plus a national number. The validator parses what you type, uses the selected country when no + code is present, and reports the normalized E.164 form, the country, whether the length is possible, whether the digits fit a real numbering plan range, the line type when known, and any extension.

  • +1 213 373 4253 — Valid US number; line type may be fixed line or mobile.
  • +44 20 7946 0018 — Valid UK landline; the country comes from +44.
  • +1 213 373 4253 ext. 99 — Same number with extension 99 shown separately.
  • 123 — Parses, but is not a possible or valid number.
Limits

What it does not do

  • It checks format and the national numbering plan only. It does not call the number or ask a carrier.
  • It does not tell you whether the line is active, who owns it, whether it is on WhatsApp, or whether it is a spam number.
  • A valid result does not mean you have consent to contact the number.
  • Enter one number at a time, up to 64 characters. Text around a number is rejected, not searched.
