In practice
Files travel inside the message encoded as text, and providers cap the total size. In marketing email a link to a hosted file is more common than an attachment, since attachments raise size and are often scanned or blocked.
Verification and sending
Not related to verification. Large or unexpected attachments can hurt filtering, so keep them out of cold outreach.
