Appendix D: methodology and sources

How this guide is written, what it does not claim and how to check it.

What you will be able to do

  • Understand how claims are sourced
  • Know what the guide deliberately leaves out
  • Report an error

Sources

Practical statements come from how email works (DNS, SMTP, authentication) and from ValidReach’s own published behaviour. Law summaries are general and carry a review date.

What is left out

We give no industry benchmarks, accuracy figures, rankings or case studies, because we do not hold sourced, dated data for them. Pages that need such data are not published.

Authorship

Written by the ValidReach team. It is not a review by an outside expert.

Corrections

If something is wrong, tell us through the contact page and we will correct it and note the date.

Your output: checklist

  • ☐ Check any number you meet against its source and date
  • ☐ Treat vendor claims as untested
  • ☐ Contact us about errors
