Workflow
Pre-import list cleaning for cold email
Whatever sending tool you use, clean the list first. Four steps, in order, before a single message is queued.
Example
A sample file (fictional data)
| step | tool | outcome |
|---|---|---|
| 1 dedupe | email deduplicator | one row per address |
| 2 domains | MX lookup | drop domains with no mail server |
| 3 verify | list verification | valid, role, catchall, unknown, invalid |
| 4 decide | your rule | import valid; test catchall; hold unknown |
The tools named here are free ValidReach pages and the verification upload.
Why this order
Deduplicating first means you pay to verify each address once. Domain checks remove whole rows cheaply. Verification handles the rest, and the final decision is yours.
Keep a record
Store the verification date and result in the file you import so you can re-check old rows before follow-up campaigns.
