Email Bounce Checker
Most avoidable bounces come from addresses that never worked. Verifying a list before you send removes many of them, and the bounce rate calculator shows how you are doing afterward.
Hard and soft bounces
A hard bounce is a permanent failure, such as a mailbox that does not exist or a domain with no mail server. A soft bounce is temporary, such as a full mailbox or a server that is down.
Verification mainly helps with the hard kind: invalid syntax, domains without mail servers (when that check is enabled) and rejected mailboxes can be reported as invalid before you send.
What to do before a send
Run the list through list verification, remove invalid addresses, and review risky, role and catch-all groups according to your own tolerance. Re-verify older lists, because addresses go stale over time.
After the send, enter your counts in the bounce rate calculator to see hard, soft and total rates.
What it cannot predict
A valid result does not guarantee a message will be accepted: a recipient server can still defer or reject it for content, reputation or policy reasons that verification cannot see.
What it cannot tell you
- We do not publish a universal safe bounce rate; thresholds depend on your email service and mailbox providers.
- Soft bounces and spam-folder placement are outside what address verification can measure.
- Results are a snapshot of the address at check time.
