Browser Extension Privacy

This notice covers the ValidReach Email Extractor browser extension. For the website and service, see the privacy policy.

What the extension reads

When you click the extension or press its shortcut and then press Extract, it reads the visible text and mailto links of the current tab’s top frame, and only that tab. It ignores hidden content and form fields. It does not run in the background, crawl other pages, or read your browsing history, cookies or open tabs.

What leaves your device

Nothing is sent during extraction. If you choose “Open in ValidReach”, the addresses you selected (not the page URL or page text) are placed in temporary session storage and handed to the Email Extractor page on validreach.dev in your own browser, which then discards them. Unclaimed data is treated as expired after 5 minutes and removed the next time the extension runs. ValidReach does not receive the addresses unless you later upload them yourself.

Analytics and storage

The extension has no analytics or telemetry, and it does not store results after you close the popup. Session storage is cleared when the browser closes.

Permissions

activeTab (read the tab you chose), scripting (run the reader on that tab) and storage (the temporary handoff above). The extension also accepts handoff requests only from https://validreach.dev/email-extractor.
