API quickstart
Create an API key, verify one address, and read the result. This takes a few minutes.
1. Create an API key
Sign in, open Settings → API keys and create a key. Send it as a Bearer token or in the X-API-Key header. Keep it on your server; never ship it in client-side code.
2. Verify one address
curl -X POST https://validreach.dev/api/v1/verify/single \
-H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"email":"user@example.com"}'3. Read the result
A successful response has success true and a data object. Branch on data.status and data.is_deliverable; see the verification results reference for what to do with each status.
{
"success": true,
"code": "0",
"message": "Success",
"data": {
"email": "user@example.com",
"status": "valid",
"is_deliverable": true,
"reason": "accepted_email",
"credits_used": 1,
"retryable": false
}
}4. Handle failures
| HTTP | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| 400 | Invalid request | Fix the input; do not retry unchanged. |
| 401 | Missing or invalid key | Check the key and header. |
| 402 | Insufficient credits | Add credits, then retry. |
| 429 | Rate limit exceeded | Back off and retry later. |
| unknown status | No conclusion; not billed | Retry later if retryable is true. |
5. Larger lists
Up to 50 addresses can go to /api/v1/verify/bulk in one call. Longer lists use /api/v1/verify/file, which processes asynchronously; poll the job status or register a webhook.
